A busy summer at Fíbín

Schools are closed for the summer and the heatwave is well underway but we here at Fíbín are preparing for the next two tours aimed at primary and secondary school audiences hitting the road in the autumn.
Fíbín are preparing for their 12th tour of the Leaving Cert play ‘An Triail’ in October and it will be staged in 6 different venues throughout the country during the nationwide tour. Fíbín are to hold open auditions in Galway City at the end of the month and we are seeking a cast of professional actors, both male and female to fulfill roles in the play.

Fíbín are running a 3 day professional development workshop for actors with Tim Crouch in Connemara in August. Tim is a renowned actor, director and writer from Brighton in the UK.

This workshop offers actors the chance to work with Tim on practical and theoretical approaches to making work for young people. It’s aimed at professional actors who would be interested in playing a role in the show Jeramee, Hartleby agus Oooglemore written by Gary Owen and casting will be done after the workshop.

The show aimed at 4-8 year olds will then go on a nationwide tour in the autumn, including Clifden Arts Festival, the Axis in Dublin and opening the Bualadh Bos Children’s Festival in Limerick in October, to name but a few.
